This black raspberry is endemic to eastern North America from Quebec to Mississippi and as far west as Nebraska. It is very productive year after year on second year canes and spreads by tip rooting and seed.

Vitex agnus-castus, also called vitex, chaste tree, chasteberry, Abraham's balm, lilac chastetree, or monk's pepper, is a native of the Mediterranean region. It is one of the few temperate-zone species of Vitex, which is on the whole a genus of tropical and sub-tropical flowering plants.

Early ripening variety. Flowers somewhat late but ripens early. Yields are very high. Berries are medium size.
